I am a working project! I am vessel to be used in the Lord's kingdom. You question how does that have to do with my artistry?? From a young age I was drawn to the art of beauty. It maybe didn't help that my mom was the ultimate pageant queen and model that I wanted to emulate so badly! It took me a bit to realize that I am my own person, and have my own plan and identity. How did this reveal come to life? Life, mistakes, failures and experiences showed that my independence is on Christ my Lord, and Savior to remind me of my WORTH in him!! Do I need to repeat that again? Yes, I said it; Jesus, the man who died on the cross to bear all humankind sins. He's my best friend and I love him so so much!! Because of him I can be very clear in introducing who I am today. I am a professional makeup artist who started her makeup career at the age of 18, because modeling didn't seem to quite work out for me it was disappointment after disappointment in that world of beauty. So I asked myself how can I stay in the realms of beauty? Luckily for me I was offered a position as a freelance artist at Lancome Cosmetics. That is how I started my career as a professional makeup artist. This lead me to work for other companies such as Sephora, and ultimately the grand opportunity to work for MAC cosmetics. I thought to myself this is it; working for MAC will raise the bar for me to move to New York and I was going to be this celebrity makeup artist that I fantasize about... Yeah that plan didn't quite work out on how I envisioned it. I made decisions in my life that changed me drastically and taught me a hard lesson that I do not regret until this day. I thought I fell in love and had a beautiful baby girl. I became a mom and then question how can I fit in my career in all this and have a family? I convinced myself that, I control my own destiny, I'll make it work on my own terms aka exclude God out all of this. Welp, that didn't work. I went through so much heartbreak I don't even know where to begin with the stories. In a nutshell those heartbreaks, failure and disappointments shaped Barbara Lissette Rodriguez, an ambassador for God using my talents as a professional makeup artist and beauty educator for women all over the world. My gift is to encourage, uplift and remind women their worthiness is in the Lord, through my teachings of the love for God, taking care of one self and maintaining the beauty God gave each and every one of them. My goal is to ultimately teach and remind you the Quintessential Woman you were created and destined to be!
